AREA DESCRIPTION

This condo is in the upscale Oceanlake Historic District, conveniently located close to a ramp to actually drive onto the beach sand!  Beach access is via 50 gentle stairs (with one handrail) or a paved ramp to drive down! In fact, during April - Sept, many people like to park their cars on the beach (right below the condo) when the tide is out! But twice a day, the tide rolls in, and clears everybody out!!!

For the shoppers in your group, Tanger Mall on Highway 101 in Lincoln city has name-brand outlet shopping for those who wish to cruise the shops, as well as many antique stores and curio shops.

The Chinook Winds Casino and Convention Center is just 2 miles north, with an indoor golf resort, seafood dining, concerts and entertainment, and 23 table games.

Chinook Winds Casino operates a shuttle bus, which comes right past our condo. You may call the driver at (541) 921-5100 to schedule pickup. The shuttle leaves the casino every hour, on the hour. and traverses Lincoln City down to the south end of town to Mo's Restaurant at 51st St, then returns on NW Harbor Ave (our street). Operates on weekends only: FRI and SAT...4 pm - 2 am, SUN...4 pm - midnight.

The local Chamber of Commerce sponsors a fun program called 'Finders Keepers' and annually hides 3000 hand blown glass sand dollars and Japanese sea floats along the 7 1/2 miles of Lincoln City beach! Be sure to walk the beach in front of your condo and look along the cliffs and among the grass and driftwood for these valuable collector items!

Devils Lake, deep only in terms of historic folklore, is 1/3 mile wide, 3 miles long, and reaches a depth of only 22 feet. Nine species of freshwater fish beckon the fisherman, while water sports such as windsurfing, water skiing, knee-boarding and jet skiing engage other sports enthusiasts. Flowing from Devils Lake is the 'D' River, which holds the title of one of the World's Shortest Rivers. From its source at Devils Lake, the river reaches its destination of the Pacific is a mere 120 feet.

Just 30 miles south is the town of Newport on Yaquina Bay, with it's working fleet of fishing vessels, plus sea lions basking on the docks and dozens of quaint bayfront shops and curio stores and restaurants.

Very enjoyable

Been coming to LCity for many years but this is our first stay at Vista D’Mar. The Moonraker was perfect the two of us and our needs – cozy, clean (even no musty beach smell), great beach view and access, reasonably priced, walking distance to local businesses. We brought oats and fruit for breakfast and ate our main meal out, so didn’t need to use much in the way of kitchen items; but it seemed equipped with the basics if we had wanted to cook. Nice that cooking spray and basic spices are provided, and being tea drinkers, we appreciated the kettle. Wi-fi was good. Not complaints, but observations: Based on the creaking the mattress made when rolling over or getting in or out, it may be due for replacement. A footstool in front of the sofa would have been nice. Very low hot water pressure in bathroom sink (although cold was fine, as was the shower). This property is right next to public beach access, one of the few that allows vehicles to park on the beach. We were here in off-season (November), so it was fairly quiet, but I suspect it’s very busy (and perhaps noisy) in the summer. Still, no hesitation in recommending this property, and we would return.

Best Winter Vacation One Could Ask For!

My three friends and I had the chance to get away to Lincoln City and could not rave about this cozy condo more! None of the pictures did the condo justice. We were expecting a humble and quaint little condo and were quite blown away by our treat by the ocean. The views were spectacular (a 180 view of the ocean is priceless!) and the condo was more than comfortable for four adults! The kitchen had everything we needed for the meals we made and there was even a movie waiting for us! The fireplace and adorable nautical decor was also a great plus! We were additionally surprised by the lovely weather we had as it gave us the chance to have a five mile walk down the beach. All in all, I would recommend the A Vista d'Mar condos to anyone - there are a variety of condo layouts that would suit any situation! The closeness to the beach cannot be beat! We loved our time here and will definitely be back someday!

We loved our stay at the Moonraker and were so happy to see we were right on the beach view! Everything was clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools. We loved the balcony and the fireplace the most. Such a great time and we lucked out with the weather too.

VRBO: Beautiful!

We absolutely loved our stay in the Moonraker room! It was sort of an impulsive decision for us to run up to Lincoln City for a night, and get away from it all. Usually I book hotels, in order to earn points, but I wanted to find us something different, for a change. I'm so glad I did! Oir stay at Vista d'Mar was absolutely wonderful. It was 10 times better than a hotel, right around the same price! We loved it, and hope to go again soon! It was so adorable, relaxing, and the view was breathtaking!

Dan and I love the ocean, so owning beachfront property is a dream for us! We bought a 50 ft sailboat when our 4 kids were young, and took them adventuring to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and other Caribbean islands. Memories of warm sand, aqua-blue water, and the wind in our faces return when we enjoy the Oregon coast, although wind and water temperatures are different! I am a registered nurse, and Dan is a builder, and we have operated hospitality businesses (apartment complexes, RV Parks, vacation homes) for 30 years. We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life, and providing them lodging with fabulous views and home-like comfort.
