The Nautilus is inspired by the classic movie 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  Themed to reminisce submarine, the Nautilus features an upper-deck state-room with a Head (this is read “bedroom with bathroom” in ship lingo) with boilerplate spiral stairs to the main salon and galley (kitchen) at ground level. Exterior doors are available on both levels.  The main salon/galley features a cozy electric fireplace, kitchenette and small dining table.  Both levels feature limousine-style mood lighting for your romantic evenings at the beach.

OK, now the fine print: The Nautilus is located at the beachfront, but does not have any view of the beach.  Also, the bathroom door is 24 inches wide and the spiral stairs are only 20 inches wide and are steep with 9 inch high steps.  These could be physical challenges for some, and we want to fully disclose them. But the beach is right there to enjoy!  Realistically speaking, The Nautilus is good for a short term stay, but not two weeks!

With a key-coded front door, you can arrive as early or late as you wish at check-in time and disturb no one. Our kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, microwave, stove and oven, basic spices (salt/pepper, oil and oil spray, Italian season, garlic salt, onion powder, lemon pepper) dishes and baking sheets, blender, and pizza cutter. You might even discover the joys of washing your own dishes in warm soapy water, since we do not have a dishwasher! Other amenities include a shower stall in the bathroom, wifi, and coffee maker. Our managers Mike and Rosie live onsite and love to interact with guests, and will do whatever is necessary to make your stay pleasant.

Access the beach with excellent steps and handrails, or by driving down with your vehicle. Take some firewood and newspaper to enjoy a beach fire with the kids and roast marshmallows! Whether you enjoy hanging out at the Casino, or shopping for souvenirs up on Highway 101 (one block away), or beach combing...The Nautilus is your home away from home!

BRING BINOCULARS for your beach trip! From our location on the beach, you can watch ships, whales, people, birds, and vehicles stuck in the sand...great fun!

No pets or companion animals in our private condo. No smoking in the condo or on the balcony. No seafood cooking in the condo, please.

ONE off-street parking spot provided for this condo; other vehicles in party please park on adjacent side streets.

Our charge for extra guests (more than your reservation is booked for) is only $5/person/night, but if undeclared guests show up, the charge is $10/person/night.

Two night minimum stay required.

This condo is in the upscale Oceanlake Historic District, conveniently located close to a ramp to actually drive onto the beach sand! Beach access is via 50 gentle stairs (with one handrail) or a paved ramp to drive down! In fact, during April - Sept, many people like to park their cars on the beach (right below the condo) when the tide is out! But twice a day, the tide rolls in, and clears everybody out!!!

For the shoppers in your group, Tanger Mall on Highway 101 in Lincoln city has name-brand outlet shopping for those who wish to cruise the shops, as well as many antique stores and curio shops.

The Chinook Winds Casino and Convention Center is just 2 miles north, with an indoor golf resort, seafood dining, concerts and entertainment, and 23 table games.

Chinook Winds Casino operates a shuttle bus, which comes right past our condo. You may call the driver at (541) 921-5100...to schedule pickup. The shuttle leaves the casino every hour, on the hour. and traverses Lincoln City down to the south end of town to Mo's Restaurant at 51st St, then returns on NW Harbor Ave (our street). Operates on weekends only: FRI and SAT...4 pm - 2 am, SUN...4 pm - midnight.

The local Chamber of Commerce sponsors a fun program called 'Finders Keepers' and annually hides 3000 hand blown glass sand dollars and Japanese sea floats along the 7 1/2 miles of Lincoln City beach! Be sure to walk the beach in front of your condo and look along the cliffs and among the grass and driftwood for these valuable collector items!

Devils Lake, deep only in terms of historic folklore, is 1/3 mile wide, 3 miles long, and reaches a depth of only 22 feet. Nine species of freshwater fish beckon the fisherman, while water sports such as windsurfing, water skiing, knee-boarding and jet skiing engage other sports enthusiasts. Flowing from Devils Lake is the 'D' River, which holds the title of one of the World's Shortest Rivers. From its source at Devils Lake, the river reaches its destination of the Pacific is a mere 120 feet.

Just 30 miles south is the town of Newport on Yaquina Bay, with it's working fleet of fishing vessels, plus sea lions basking on the docks and dozens of quaint bayfront shops and curio stores and restaurants.

World-famous Oregon Coast Aquarium is also located in Newport, as well as the Maritime Museum and the Hatfield Marine Science Center. Your days will be delightful, whether beach combing for glass floats or shopping or dining or reading in front of the fireplace!
